ABOUT ABOUT

***EVENT UPDATE: VENUE AND TIME CHANGE

Due to a conflict, we had to make two important changes:

1.) The location has been moved to the PYPM space (Painted Bride, 232 Vine street)

2.) We are only doing one screening at 4:30PM.

If you bought a ticket, it will still be good for the new location.

PYPM presents the premiere of its first full-length feature documentary, “Blackout.” The documentary follows the journey of how six youth poets grew into a team and then into a family and won a world championship.

This is the story of the 2015 PYPM Youth Slam Team - who placed #1 in the world - after winning the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam. You'll hear both poems performed at the competition and exclusive unheard poems.

PYPM became three-time world champions that year, prompting the Philly Inquirer to call us a "poetic dynasty."

Following each screening, we'll hold a panel discussion with the 2015 PYPM team, coaches, and documentary producer (Corey McDonough).

Time: The screening will be held at 4:30 PM. Movie run-time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.

*All proceeds go toward funding the 2017 PYPM Slam Team at BNV this summer.
